Weigh-In Wednesday



Yet another depressing Wednesday... ha, ha. One of these days I'm going to get so tired of yoyoing the -10 lb mark that I'll actually meet my goals! But sadly, this is not that week. I ended up working out 3 times, which was not my goal but better than last week... However they were pretty light workouts, and I didn't eat very well. : (  I was hoping for another undeserved, small weight loss, but the facts finally caught up with me:

Bleh... Back under 10 lbs. Alright, no more negativity. Just going to make my goals for next week: I think I'll say exercise 5 days this time. Maybe if I make that goal for a while, I'll do better at making the 7 day goal. :)

Weigh-In Wednesday


Yay, I remembered!! : )  I have to admit that last week was a bad one though... I only worked out once.  : ( And I really slacked on my eating as well. I almost intentionally didn't weigh this morning, but I decided that wouldn't help my cause any so I sucked it up and... I weighed exactly the same as last week. I was pretty excited about that though. I felt sure I had gained.

Well, my average per week went down a tenth of a pound. : ( Ughhh... So I guess I'll keep my goal of working out every day this week. And I'll definitely get back to eating healthier. My biggest problem last week was eating right before bedtime... A big no-no. So I'll be sure and cut that out this week. : )

Weigh-In Wednesday


Yet another Weigh-In Wednesday on Thursday... I weighed yesterday morning, but never got around to posting it. And yet again, I missed last week's weigh-in. Such a slacker!!

As far as my goals from my last post, I did work out when I got home from church that night. But Thursday night I had the worst headache... I didn't even go to book club. So I didn't work out that night... or any other night since. : ( But I have been watching what I've eaten. I've been trying to eat a big, healthy breakfast, a medium-sized lunch, and a small dinner. Usually just a sandwich or bowl of cereal. And I think it's actually paying off! : ) In fact, even without working out, I lost 1.3 pounds. Yay! : )

Back up to 10 lbs lost! Woot, woot! ; )  Soooo, my goals for the next 7 days will be to work out EVERY DAY and to keep watching what I eat. And to weigh in and post the results on Wednesday!!

Weigh-In Wednesday


Wow, I'm actually posting this on a Wednesday... can you believe it!? ; )  And I didn't even weigh in last week. But I haven't worked out at all, so that's probably why I forgot. If I had worked out, I would have been anxious to weigh in...

And since you know I haven't worked out, it won't surprise you to find I gained this week. It may surprise you, though, to find I only gained 1 pound. I'll take that... I deserve a lot worse. : (

Awe man, I dropped below 10 pounds. Ughhh... I seriously need to get motivated!! Ok... even though I have church tonight and won't be home until probably after 9, I AM GOING TO WORK OUT!!!!!! And tomorrow, I have book club... but I WILL WORK OUT AFTERWARDS!!!!! I just have to stop making excuses and start making time to exercise.

I keep making these ideal situations in my mind... like if I get up at 5, I can do a 20 minute workout and still have plenty of time to get ready for work. And then I can head to Curves after work. But then I wake up late, and I just decide the whole day's a bust so I'll try again tomorrow. : (

I have to stop thinking that way, or I'll never lose this weight! And I need to stop trying to concoct ways to motivate myself and just do it!!!

So here's to hoping next week's post will be a lot less frustrated and a lot more excited!! : )

Weigh-In Wednesday


I know, I know... it's Friday. But I haven't done one of these in a few weeks, and I did remember to weigh myself Wednesday. I just didn't get around to posting it until now!

I'm ashamed to say that besides the 5K walk, I haven't worked out once. : ( And I haven't done much better watching what I've eaten... So I was very surprised to find I had lost 2 pounds when I weighed in! Yay!!

Wow, I passed the 10 pound mark!! : D Hopefully that'll motivate me to go even harder now! I think my biggest problem is that since my new job is in Montgomery, I don't pass by Curves anymore. It's actually quite out of the way now... I know that's just an excuse, but having to drive past it everyday made it much easier for me to go consistently.

BUT, we may have found someone to rent our house in the Gump, so that means we can finally move to Wetumpka! We've already started looking online at some houses, so hopefully we'll be able to find the perfect one for us! : )

Please keep us in your prayers as we get ready to take this big step. And also pray for the victims of the horrible weather we had on Wednesday. Matt and I were very blessed not to have any problems, but so many weren't as fortunate... I believe over 200 people were killed in our state alone. Crazy...

Weigh-In Wednesday


Hey guys! Yet another Weigh-In Wednesday on a Thursday... After church last night, we stopped by Matt's parents' house (like we always do), and Matt's mom wanted to play cards. So we didn't get home until after 9:30. :( So I just went to bed.

I may be able to post them from work though... still learning all the computer restrictions at my new job. : )

But anyway, I was very surprised to find that I lost 1.5 lbs last week... I didn't work out at all that I can remember, unless you count playing croquet at my birthday party. (Which I'll have a big post of soon... just waiting on some pictures other people took) Plus I ate a lot of junk food... cake, ice cream, brownies. A very bad week for me... bad but extremely yummy! ; ) Ha, ha.

So... I'm going to keep the goal of working out every day this week. For my birthday, I asked Matt to get me one of those watches that uses your heart rate to tell you how many calories you've burned. That way I figured I could keep a log of how many calories I consume each day vs. how many calories I burn. He wanted me to pick it out, and I haven't gotten around to doing that yet, but I should definitely have one by Monday.

Weigh-In Wednesday


On Thursday again... sorry! I weighed yesterday but didn't get around to posting it. : ( I was also a little sad to see that I had gained almost half a pound. BUT, I also measured (thanks to the advice of Heidi over at Grin & Bear It) and was super pleased to find that I lost the following inches last week:

Chest: -1
Waist: -0.5
Hips: -0.5

Yay! : ) Matt wasn't too thrilled about the inch off my chest (insert eye roll here) but I explained that it included back fat too. Ha, haaa, ha...

I also weighed this week at Curves, which is done monthly. Per them, I hadn't lost that much weight, but my body fat % went down 1.1%. So I was kind of excited about that. Maybe that means I'm losing fat but gaining muscle... and that's why my weight hasn't gone down much. But I know I still have a long way to go. I didn't reach my goal of working out every day last week, so I'll keep that goal for this week. It may be hard though with my family coming into town and staying with me plus my birthday party this weekend. But I'll try! : )

Weigh-In Wednesday


Yes, I know it's Thursday. ; )  I weighed yesterday morning but didn't get around to posting about it... Busy day. And when I got home from church, I just crashed.

AND I just realized I didn't do a Weigh-In Wednesday last week. To be honest, I don't even think I ever weighed in. Wednesday afternoon, a realtor called and asked to show our house (that's been on the market over a year!!!) the next day, so the rest of my day was spent making the house spotless... or close to it, anyway. So, I have no idea how I did last week, but this week I lost 4.4 pounds. Yay! : )

I still haven't been working out every day like I'd prefer, but I've really enjoyed the Wii Zumba when I've done it. I always get a good sweat going, and it's a lot of fun! (Even though I look like a big goober doing it, I'm sure...) Plus I've been trying not to snack throughout the day, so I'm sure that's helped.


My goal for this week is to work out EVERY DAY and lose as much as possible (in a healthy way) before my big party next weekend!! I'm going shopping with my sis Anna this coming Monday to find a dress for the party, so hopefully that'll be a fun experience and not a depressing one... ; )

Weigh-In Wednesday


So, I totally forgot to post this last week! Sorry... I'm a slacker, I know. But I did weigh in then. I was very sad to find that I gained 3 more pounds. I was actually really surprised because I worked out hard that week. So to keep my spirits up, I've convinced myself that the gain was due to muscles growing.

So on to this week. I slacked on going to the gym this past week, but I did get a lot of cardio over the weekend at B.O.W. I'll post about that later... And although I didn't go into full-on junk mode, I didn't eat as healthy this week. : (  So... I lost 1 pound. It's better than gaining though!

Well, that kind of blows... In a month, I've only lost 2.6 pounds. : (  Well, I guess that should just motivate me to do better this next month! Right now my motivation is to lose as much weight as I can before my big birthday party coming up. I'm turning the big 3-0, and I'm having an Alice In Wonderland themed tea party. Fun!! : )

I think I'm going to give up some things for Lent that should aid me in my weight-loss goals as well, but I'll post about that tomorrow. Right now, I'm going to go burn some calories with Wii Zumba. Later! ; )

Weigh-In Wednesday


Hiya! I did weigh in last night, but my internet was down so I had to wait until I got to work this morning to post this. Unfortunately, I was right about the whole "most of that is water weight" thing, because I gained 4 pounds this week... BUT, that means that I have still lost a total of 4.6 pounds, which is awesome! And it meets my healthy-weight-loss goal of losing 1-2 pounds per week. : )

I was sick most of last week, so I didn't eat or drink much... which is why I figured that huge loss was just water weight. Being sick also kept me from the gym though, so I was a little worried about that. I can't remember if I mentioned it on here, but I joined Curves around the end of December. I really love it there! For those of you who aren't familiar, it's a women-only gym that utilizes a... well, here, I'll just copy the description from their website:

I love it because it gives me a great workout in only 30 minutes! Plus the women there are super friendly! : ) AND they recently began incorporating Zumba into their workouts, which I was very excited about! I've enjoyed it so much that I went and got the new Wii Zumba game:

I've done it two nights in a row, and it's been really fun! It's pretty fast-paced, so it takes me a few tries to get the moves right sometimes, but it definitely gives me a good sweat! It was offered as just the game or the game and a belt that holds your Wii remote. I had planned on purchasing just the game, but they only had the one with the belt in stock, so I went ahead and got it. It was an extra $20... not sure if it's worth it if you have the choice. The belt catches most of my movements, but during the cool down at the end of the workout, I usually take the remote and hold it, because there are a lot of arm movements that aren't picked up while it's in the belt...

I plan on doing the Wii Zumba every day, on top of my Curves visits. I may wait until I finish my antiobiotic to go back to Curves, so I'm glad I have something to do in the meantime! : )

Weigh-In Wednesday


Hello there! So, a new blog friend of mine, Heidi over at Grin & Bear It, has started a "Weigh-In Wednesday" deal... and I've decided to join in! Exciting, right... Well, it actually was this week, because I lost 8.6 pounds!!! Isn't that crazy? I'm trying not to get too excited, because it's probably just water weight. I haven't been working out like I should, but I have been watching what I've eaten. So if I add some more exercise, maybe I'll keep it off and keep losing! : )
